- An application selected while ordering installs automatically when the server is ready. Safe defaults and generated credentials are used where the published blueprint permits them; generated credentials are shown once in the customer portal. Installing on an existing server remains an explicit customer action.
- [Published application feed](https://api.vpsnet.com/public/applications/feed.json): the authoritative EN/LT/LV/ET list of applications currently available to customers. A draft or reviewed internal blueprint is not public until it passes the publication gate. The feed returns slugs but does not embed page URLs; detail links are `/en/applications/{slug}`, `/lt/aplikacijos/{slug}`, `/lv/lietotnes/{slug}`, and `/et/rakendused/{slug}`.
- Application CPU, RAM, and disk figures are sizing guidance, not installation gates. A supported application remains selectable during ordering and installable below those figures; product, OS, architecture, and runtime compatibility remain hard requirements.
- Customer-owned Docker Compose recipes can use ordinary image tags during validation. VPSnet resolves them to immutable digests and returns the exact Compose document that must be saved as an immutable revision. Recipes support private registries, revision history, secret-free export, and explicit installation.
- Container discovery on supported Firecracker VPS services is read-only. An eligible Compose project can be prepared for adoption, but source containers are stopped only after explicit confirmation. Multi-service projects can configure separate access for each published service and port.
- The signed-in application Access view shows the configured exposure mode, generated or customer hostname, VPSnet-managed DNS and access readiness. Managed access is ready only after DNS is published, SSL is verified/active, and a final same-host HTTPS probe returns HTTP 200; installation health alone is not readiness. It also shows every reachable URL, bounded endpoint errors, and direct publish/change and health-troubleshooting actions. After activation, VPSnet continuously observes each managed HTTPS certificate and reports its expiry, automatic-renewal window, last successful or failed check, last observed renewal, and repeated renewal-window failures. A temporary monitoring failure does not stop a running application, and certificate bodies, fingerprints, keys, ACME accounts, and guest paths are never exposed.
- Application Diagnostics shows the managed-runtime check target, latest result and end-to-end check duration, running-container counts, and a bounded recent history. Three consecutive non-healthy results produce remediation guidance to review component states and logs before considering a restart.
- The signed-in Resources view shows about 24 hours of authenticated application and per-container CPU, memory, network, and restart history alongside the existing server graphs. Containers are identified only by Compose service and ordinal. Optional thresholds highlight current measurements. Customers can enable account email that is sent once when a configured threshold is reached and once when the metric recovers; repeated high measurements do not resend. Thresholds never enforce limits, restart or stop applications, or affect billing. API clients read the bounded samples from installation detail and replace thresholds plus the email preference with `applications:manage`; MCP exposes `configure_application_resource_thresholds`.
- The signed-in Security view correlates public routes and ports, SSL readiness, outbound policy, configuration drift, endpoint failures, and customer-manageable credentials. Credential metadata shows purpose, required/configured state, one-time reveal availability, and record-update time; it never returns saved values or claims successful application or application-internal last use. Runtime credential changes queue reconciliation and may restart consuming services.
- When a tested application update becomes eligible, VPSnet sends one email and control-panel notification for that exact version. The Applications page still rechecks current health, configuration, compatibility, and rollback-backup requirements before an update can start.
- After a successful update, the Applications page can advertise one exact rollback to the immediately previous managed version while its pre-update recovery point remains valid. The customer must confirm the advertised version. Rollback changes the managed application version but leaves application data unchanged; if the reverse transition fails, VPSnet restores the current version automatically.
- Terminal AI can propose start, stop, restart, reconcile, or repair for an exact existing managed application. The customer confirms the exact installation and action; VPSnet rechecks current state before queueing it, and queued is not completion. This path cannot install, update, remove, change access, cancel work, or perform data-loss actions, and it places no VPSnet management credential in the server or application container.
- Terminal AI can also group 1-20 related authoritative DNS upserts/deletes for one editable VPSnet-hosted zone into one exact review. A server-issued confirmation is bound to the canonical ordered set and consumed once; deletes repeat and recheck the current record identity before any write. Processing stops at the first error and reports any already-applied prefix instead of claiming the whole set succeeded. PTR/reverse DNS remains a separate service-identity operation.
- Firecracker browser terminals use transport heartbeats that do not extend the 60-minute input-idle security limit. The terminal warns before that limit; after idle expiry or a connection failure, Reconnect requests a fresh one-time console ticket instead of reusing credentials.
- Selective application-data restore uses eligible retained nightly whole-VM backups for the exact current application revision. Listing points does not create or charge for a backup; the customer receives an exact quote before approving the paid replacement of declared application data.

- Newly reserved automatic service hostnames use the numeric VPS ID, for example `3130164.vpsnet.cloud`; platform HTTPS application hostnames use the `app.` subdomain, for example `app.3130164.vpsnet.cloud`. Existing reservations, customer hostname choices, and PTR overrides remain unchanged.
- VPSnet publishes automatic A records for assigned IPv4 addresses, AAAA records when IPv6 is enabled, and matching IPv4/IPv6 PTR defaults. Customer PTR records take precedence and remain during quarantine; platform-owned DNS and PTR state is removed before an address can be reused.

## Recovery
- Whole-service restore for supported services uses retained automatic off-node backup points. API clients first request an exact non-charging quote, disclose the VAT-inclusive total, and then confirm with the same idempotency key and quote token. An exact retry returns the existing restore request instead of creating a second payment. Paid API keys require `services:read`, full access, enabled paid operations, `services:restore`, and configured spend limits.
- On supported Firecracker VPS services, the Files restore API lists retained nightly restore points, lets customers browse files and folders without charge, and provides an exact paid quote before selected data is replaced. It does not create a separate file backup.
- The rescue API reports capability before any change. Supported Firecracker VPS rescue exposes the customer filesystem at `/mnt/customer`; Cloud VPS rescue uses an operator recovery ISO and noVNC. Entering or leaving rescue can restart the service and requires explicit acknowledgement.

- VPS uses Firecracker microVMs for Linux workloads needing VM-level isolation, low overhead, apps, APIs, workers, CI/CD, automation, or containerized services.
- Container VPS provides low-cost Linux hosting, file-level backups, and flexible online resource scaling.
- Cloud VPS uses KVM for High Availability, Windows Server, BSD, custom kernels, snapshots, and replicated Ceph NVMe storage.
- Firecracker Functions run on-demand backend code, webhooks, integrations, data processing, maintenance jobs, and event-driven automation. Paid panel, REST, and MCP invocation requires a stable Idempotency-Key; an exact retry returns the original invocation, while changed input or wait semantics are refused without another execution or charge.
- On-demand servers are a **coming-soon** Firecracker compute service, separate from Functions. They are designed to boot in seconds, but customer ordering is disabled while VPSnet validates the lifecycle and guest reliability. The current technical preview has no automatic backups or snapshots.
- VPSnet Domains & DNS covers domain registration or transfer, authoritative DNS, parent-delegated DNSSEC where available, and pointing domains at services. AI assistants can use the MCP server or API with the corresponding domain and DNS scopes.
- VPSnet SSL certificates have three distinct paths: managed HTTPS for supported application routes, Automatic SSL subscriptions for compatible ACME clients on any provider, and portable paid certificate files for customer-controlled SSL services. Customer pricing and quotes are shown in EUR; private keys stay on the customer's system.
- VPSnet Applications is one managed path for compatible catalog software. Suggested resources are guidance and do not block supported orders or installations; manual deployment and other available tools remain peer capabilities.
- VPS plans: VPS-1 to VPS-6 from 1.99 EUR/mo excl. VAT, 500 Mbps network throughput on all plans, 1-40 TB traffic, 200-1000 MB/s disk I/O caps, and 2k-20k IOPS caps.
- Lowest advertised prices can depend on the selected billing period. Monthly billing and renewal pricing can be higher; use the linked plan pages and order flow for exact current pricing.

## AI & Developer
- VPSnet AI Assistant: integrated into Cloud VPS, Firecracker microVMs, Firecracker Functions, VPS, and supported Windows Server machines. It performs real server-side work: inspect systems, run commands, install software, configure services, troubleshoot errors, prepare deployments, generate scripts, create or update web pages, and automate requested tasks.
- On Linux Cloud VPS, assistant sessions use the SSH port detected inside the server. A configured dedicated VPSnet AI egress address can receive one runtime-only firewall permission limited to that exact address and port; it expires with the session without replacing or disabling existing firewall rules.
- VPSnet AI inference-only API keys provide three paid OpenAI-compatible profiles: `vpsnet-ai-fast` for speed, `vpsnet-ai` for balanced work, and `vpsnet-ai-pro` for the most capable profile. Provider model identifiers, internal assistant aliases, and free models are not exposed to customer keys.
- Each management API key has a privacy-bounded request activity trail with recent matched API routes, response outcomes, resolved source addresses, endpoint/day rollups, and source counts from detail rows still retained. Secrets, headers, query strings, path values, and request bodies are never recorded. An API-key caller can inspect only its own trail; recorded totals are security evidence, not billing.
- The API-key workspace separates exact billed usage from active reservations, shows exact per-profile request/token/cost rollups and daily/monthly remaining caps, and labels its month projection as an estimate rather than an invoice or reservation. `GET /account/api-keys/{keyId}/inference-usage` and MCP `get_api_key_inference_usage` expose the non-secret read model to a separate management key with read/full access. Notification settings and one-time direct key rotation remain browser-session only.
- Firecracker Functions: usage-billed code execution inside isolated Firecracker microVMs, launched from the VPSnet panel, API, MCP, or an authenticated webhook with logs, output, duration, and usage cost visibility. `invoke_function` generates one Idempotency-Key per tool call unless the caller supplies a stable key for an exact retry.
- Firecracker Function detail reports code/environment integrity. Invocation is blocked if either protected execution value cannot be decrypted. Updating then requires the customer to explicitly approve `acknowledge_unreadable_replacement=true` and provide trusted replacement values; the same backend fence applies to the panel, direct REST clients, and MCP.
